Principal Investigator Joana Roque de Pinho and co-Principal Investigator Troy Sternberg travelled to Mongolia for 20 days of collaborative fieldwork with Batbuyan Batjav (Consultant). The trio visited a number of sacred sites, and conducted interviews with herders, monks, shamans and their families to begin exploring the relationships between environmental changes and religious changes in Mongolia. To learn more about their trip, listen to the photo-podcast here.

To launch the MYNA project, team members attended a retreat at Quinta dos Salgueiros in Idanha-a-Nova, Portugal. Core concepts of the research were discussed and debated, fieldwork timelines mapped-out and presentations on each field site were given to help brainstorm and refine research questions and common methodologies.
