MYNA team members Joana Roque de Pinho and Angela Kronenburg García (UC Louvain) together with Aurore Dumont (Université Paris Cité), co-organized the hybrid panel entitled “Pastoralism in transition: Exploring intersections of religious and environmental changes”.
Presentations focused on Kenyan, Mongolian and Chinese pastoral lands, covering relationships between religious transformations and land tenure, land markets, adaptation to climate change, cultural heritage, and gender and migration. The panel closed with the screening of “Mundo”, a film by Ana Edwards that explores how a landscape is reshaped by evangelical notions after the conversion of Matilde, an elderly Aymara woman.
The panel was affiliated with the Commission on Nomadic Peoples .
