MYNA researchers Joana Roque de Pinho, Troy Sternberg, Batbuyan Batjav and Angela Kronenburg García attended the Nomadic Ethics and Intercultural Dialogue International Conference in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, June 22-23 2023. The conference coincided with a fieldwork trip to Mongolia, and provided a wonderful opportunity for MYNA team members to connect with other Mongolia scholars from more than 20 countries. The conference was organised by the International Institute for the Study of Nomadic Civilizations (IISNC), in partnership with the Commission on Nomadic Peoples, the National University of Mongolia, the Mongolian Anthropological Association and UNESCO. A primary focus of the conference was to critique and discuss the continued propagation of negative stereotypes of nomadic peoples and the consequent discrimination they face in society.
