MYNA researchers Angela, Troy, Joana, Batbuyan, Lenaai and Stanley, together with other members of the COVID-19 in Drylands Working Group and supported by a grant from the University of Bayreuth’s Africa Multiple Cluster of Excellence, co-organized and participated in the COVID-19 in Drylands Conference in the Maasai Mara, Narok County, Kenya (October 10-14th, AA Lodge, Sekenani).
The Maasai Mara is home to Stanley, a MYNA co-researcher, who organized several of the conference’s events. The conference brought together teams of co-researchers, i.e., academics who were in lockdown in Europe/US during the pandemic and their local collaborators from the drylands (Kenya, Tanzania, Israel/Bedouin, Mongolia, Mozambique, Senegal) who led and conducted research in their home areas on life under COVID-19 restrictions.
